ARC: Why Guns and Knives?

Actively Reducing Crime (ARC) is a specially designed resource pack produced by NCCL for schools. It’s been created to help raise young people's awareness of crime and encourage them to help reduce crime in their community. The recently launched ARC: Why Guns and Knives Project adapts this resource pack and focuses on the impact and consequences of gun and knife crime.

We are currently working with two London schools, the John Paul II Secondary School and The Gatton Primary School both in Wandsworth, who are piloting the new resources and bringing the project to pupils.

Through ARC: Why Guns and Knives, the young people involved will produce a crime audit of their local area to gain an understanding of guns and knife crime. From their audit, the young people will then have a £1,000 ARC grant to design and deliver a targeted crime prevention campaign based on key messages.

This project has been created in association with the Nottingham Piece by Piece resources which focus on Gun and Knife Crime.
