NCCL: What We Do

Actively Reducing Crime (ARC)

Actively Reducing Crime (ARC) was a specially designed resource pack produced by NCCL for primary and secondary schools. It was created to help raise young people's awareness of crime and encouraged them to help reduce crime in their community.

We have delivered the ARC project to over 15 schools during the past four years. It gives schools the chance to address issues that are of concern to their local community. The young people who work on the project are given the opportunity to produce a crime audit of their local area. From their audit, the young people then have a £1,000 ARC grant to design and deliver a targeted crime prevention campaign based on key messages.

Once the project is completed, a celebration event is held for the whole community, welcoming everyone from parents and carers to local MPs, and the school receives its own ARC mark.
