NCCL: What We Do

Apprenticeships

In 2009, NCCL received funding to offer apprenticeships to two young people who were not in education, employment or training. The two young people, Daniel Brown and Takatayu Adofu, were referred to NCCL by the ‘Say Yes’ campaign, a charity based in Nottingham.

Both young men had been working with ‘Say Yes’ on a social enterprise project. At their final presentation, they impressed us enormously and were invited for an interview. Both Daniel and Takatayu have gained a great deal from their experience with NCCL, learning about working both in an office environment and a museum.

They were involved in a variety of tasks including helping with the front of house visitor experience, preparing mail-outs, assisting with exhibitions and creating resources for young visitors to use when visiting the museum.
