ARC: Alcohol Project

Actively Reducing Crime (ARC) is a specially designed resource pack produced by NCCL for schools. It is created to help raise young people's awareness of crime and encourages them to help reduce crime in their community. The ARC: Alcohol Project adapted this resource pack and focuses on the impact and consequences of alcohol and anti-social behaviour.
We are working with Ryton Park Primary School in Worksop to pilot the resources, which will enable schools to explore issues surrounding alcohol, including its effects on the body and the impact of alcohol misuse on families.
Through ARC: Alcohol, the young people will produce a crime audit of their local area which will help them to understand the effect of alcohol-related crime where they live. From their audit, the young people will then apply for a £1,000 ARC grant to design and deliver a targeted crime prevention campaign based on key messages.
This project is currently being funded by Nottinghamshire DAAT and Bassetlaw/Newark and Sherwood Community Safety Partnership.
