NCCL: What We Do

What we do / Schools /

For Secondary Schools

Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils have the chance to explore history and citizenship-based issues such as voting, protesting and reform through a wide range of mock trials. Pupils carry out mock trials in our authentic Victorian Courtroom, taking on the roles of the defendant, witnesses, barristers, judge and jury.

Follow up debates around our mock trial themes are also available with our experienced facilitators.

Pupils studying the Crime and Punishment History GCSE will find the Crime and Punishment Tour informative and invaluable to their course, as they explore the corridors and cells of the old County Gaol.

We also offer a selection of contemporary mock trials to give learners the opportunity to explore the law today.

A range of talks from specialised members of our team are also available for pupils studying Leisure and Tourism, Customer Services and Marketing.

For more information on Secondary activities, download our Secondary Schools leaflet below or contact Pollie Shorthouse, Learning and Access Manager (Schools). To book activities, visit our Plan section.
