Welcome to NCCL

We are the National Centre for Citizenship and the Law (NCCL), a national educational charity working with young people across the UK.
From our base in the Shire Hall and working alongside our sister organisation, the award-winning Galleries of Justice Museum, we provide a range of projects and activities for young people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. In addition to running our education programme through the Galleries of Justice Museum, we also operate our schemes through schools and community youth organisations in this region and beyond. Indeed, we also work nationally reaching out to young people in London and other key cities.
We aim to provide innovative and engaging resources to help develop young people’s understanding of the law. We are also committed to preventing and reducing crime through early intervention and preventative education.
To help us achieve these objectives, the Galleries of Justice Museum provides exciting interactive exhibitions and tours including the Citizen’s Zone, which provides a national and regional citizenship and crime reduction learning resource. This explores social and moral rights and responsibilities, community involvement and legal literacy.
Above all, our work is dedicated to teaching young people about the past, helping them act today and empowering them to change tomorrow.
Campaign, make an impact!

Inspire young people into action by studying historical campaigns through our new project: Campaign! Make an Impact. Please email us to find out more about our Campaign CPD event for museums and schools on March 16th
