NCCL: Who We Are

Who we are /

Welcome to NCCL

We are the National Centre for Citizenship and the Law (NCCL), a national educational charity working with young people across the UK.

From our base in Nottingham and working alongside our sister organisation, the award-winning Galleries of Justice Museum, we provide a range of projects and activities for young people in the East Midlands. In addition to running our education programme through the Galleries of Justice Museum, we also operate our schemes through schools and community youth organisations in this region and beyond. Indeed, we also work nationally reaching out to young people in London and other key cities, with our programmes being delivered in partnership with organisations including the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

We aim to provide innovative and engaging resources to help develop young people’s understanding of the law. We are also committed to preventing and reducing crime through early intervention and preventative education.

To help us achieve these objectives, the Galleries of Justice Museum with its courtrooms, prisons and police station provides exciting interactive exhibitions and tours including the Citizen’s Zone, which provides a national and regional citizenship and crime reduction learning resource. Through these spaces, NCCL explores issues around social and moral rights and responsibilities, community involvement and legal literacy.

Above all, our work is dedicated to teaching young people about the past, helping them act today and empowering them to change tomorrow.

A great cause!

Caroline Rajchel of NCCL is running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in aid of our charity ‘Help a Nottinghamshire Child’ (HNC) please sponsor her at www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Rajchel and follow the simple step by step process for donating.
